Thread: Do You Hide Your Gross Habits?

I pretty much have no shame. I think everything I do is cute as hell, even if I know it's not lol. I feel more intimate with someone, the more "private" things we engage in with each other.

I try to keep most bodily functions and personal grooming private (they don't need to see how the magic happens, just know that it does).

(Byron's wife) I think this really depends on the woman's personal habits & the disposition of the man she marries. I know there are guys that are laid back at home & able to really dig a woman who can "let it all hang out" Shrek-&-Fiona-style... But, in my experience, most guys have a conscious-but-unmentionable list of "acceptable" and "unacceptable" gross behaviors. For example, my friend's husband thought it was cute when she would burp... but he was disappointed when she either forgot to shave her legs or would do so in his presence.

While men are aware that we have necessary bodily functions and grooming rituals- the majority of them would really rather not see these things take place. (I love how VellutoBruno68 termed this "the magic" LOL!) They may feel that it's "okay" for a man to be gross, but it deeply disturbs them when their GF or wife commits the slightest infraction. Double standard? Maybe so, but I think that most men desire their woman to retain a ladylike manner and at least a little mystery.

I've been married to my wife for almost 10 years and to this day I don't pass gas when she's in the room. I leave or hold it till I can.

But when I fall asleep, it's hell to tell the captain!

Reading above me, I don't believe men have double standards at all. These standards concerning "the magic" are self-imposed by women and that's ok. It part of being a lady. I have yet to hear about a man having relationship issues because his girlfriend farted around him. Most men I know actually don't care and laugh amongst themselves about women's attempt to hide certain habits.

As most real men in relationships know, it is far easier to learn the women's standards and adapt yourself to that as quickly as possible....lol!

I'm all for intimacy, but I don't feel closer to my man if I witness some of his bodily functions and grooming habits. To the contrary, I think when that veil of mystery is gone, there's a certain level of respect that's lost.

I know it may be different for each couple, but it's been my experience that men don't want to see us covered in hair removal cream, pore strip across our nose, tweezers in hand... add the hair towel/turban and I think we start to look like their mothers. I'm keeping the "magic" to myself, LOL.
