    These guys got probation for this assault. (Well, one of them got a DAY in jail, but that's it.)

    An unprovoked three-on-one attack, with no jail time? That seems unjust to me.

    Well, that's telling them! SMDH... I think that they'd rather ignore the issue than to punish people and find a resolution. It's like that in many parts up north in the US as well. SMDH... And even here in the south. A harsh punishment would mean there's a problem, I suppose.

    Honestly, I have no idea what accounts for the way any given case turns out. I don't know if the judge was biased toward white defendants, or the defendants had some kind of clout with the judge, or he was feeling extra-charitable that day, or whatever. I can't draw any general conclusions, because I'm not party to the details.

    And in general, I'm inclined to think that here in the U.S., we often deliver over-harsh sentences, especially for many non-violent crimes.

    But this is certainly an example of erring in the opposite direction. Not harsh enough punishment, in my opinion.

    As to the lady's comments, she's somewhat justified in being surprised that this kind of thing is happening in her country, rather than the U.S. Canada does have quite a bit less racial tension and fewer incidents of violence in general. That's no lie. But still, less does not equal none, so you've got to deal with it when it does happen.

    What interests me is all of the shock by the Whites that were interviewed but the video also states that the local minorities say this stuff happens all of the time. I wonder if it's simply not reported or ignored when reported. Youtube is changing the world! I tell ya...
